  • What types of issues can counselling help me with?
Speaking with a therapist can help you gain clarity on an issue, change old patterns, untangle complex personal issues or embark on a journey of self-development. Counselling can provide you with tools that could potentially help you manage an issue/s such as stress management more productively. You may seek counselling as a result of a crisis, a smaller issue or to manage an unsustainable lifestyle.
  • How much does it cost?
Please contact me to find out how I can assist via individual counselling or workshops. For face to face and online individual meetings based in Norway, the session fee is: 1250 NOK + VAT for 50 minutes. If you're based overseas, please enquiry about online or phone session rates. I also offer a selection of packages.
  • Do we need to meet up frequently?
To make gradual and steady progress, weekly sessions at the same time and place is recommended. Online or phone sessions can also be arranged if you're unable to make it in person.
  • How many counselling sessions do I need?
The initial booking session is an assessment and consulting session, allowing the identification of an issue/s and to gain in-depth understanding of your goals. The length depends on a number of factors and varies from person to person. It may be as short as a few sessions, but many clients choose to use therapy for longer-term exploration of issues. CBT is a time efficient therapy and I normally recommend a minimum of 6-12 sessions with a progress review at your sixth session.
  • What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on the interconnectedness of thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical elements. It often involves learning skills to identify and change unproductive behaviour and/or unhelpful thoughts that might contribute to troubling symptoms and feelings. Identifying where issues might stem from is often explored, but the main focus of CBT is on making changes in the here and now.
  • What is ACT?
Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) aim is to maximise the human potential to live a rich and meaningful life, while effectively handling the pain that inevitably goes with it. The therapy focuses on coming to terms with the things that cannot be changed and instead focus on engaging in actions aligned and guided by your core values. Through practising ACT you might clarify what's really important and meaningful to you and motivate you to enhance your life. It also focuses on teaching psychological skills such as mindfulness techniques, that could enable you to stay present during challenging times. I use different types of approaches to match your specific issue. Throughout the sessions, identifying the issue/s, setting goals and implementing strategies are all completed collaboratively. Home based tasks might be set in between sessions.
  • Is counselling confidential?
Your privacy is fully respected. Everything you say in session is confidential and what we discuss stays between us. However, there are a few exceptions to this which I will discuss with you at our first meeting.
  • How do I make an appointment?
If you have any other questions or are ready to take the next step. Contact me now via emailing: info@levacounselling.com You can book a no obligation and free 10 minute discovery call. The purpose of the conversation is to establish if there's a working connection. If I'm unable to assist, I aim to make referrals to other services.
